Recently, I finished the Goodwill® Career Coach and Navigator Professional Certificate offered on Coursera.
The program, well-known in the U.S., is based on the International Coaching Federation (ICF) framework.
It covers:

• Basics of career navigation and coaching
• Client evaluation and career planning
• Client support and guidance
• Community resources for career support

It totaled over 70 hours — I’m proud I completed it!

NotebookLM: The Real Game-Changer

Although I often talk about “AI and education,” the most disruptive tool right now, in my opinion, isn’t ChatGPT or Gemini — it’s NotebookLM.
It allows you to upload PDFs, YouTube transcripts, URLs, and other materials — and it only answers based on that data.
Unlike generative AI, it won’t make things up.

NotebookLM can now:

• Summarize
• Create voice/video explanations
• Generate quizzes and flashcards
• Write blog posts and training materials
• Analyze case studies — all in Japanese!

A few months ago, it only supported English, but now even video generation in Japanese is possible.
This tool truly acts as a second brain.

Could NotebookLM replace tutors? Possibly.
If textbooks are uploaded, the AI can generate explainer videos.
However, tutors understand “how exams ask questions” — contextual nuances AI still lacks.
So while NotebookLM is powerful, it’s not a complete substitute — yet.

That’s why I realized: what humans can do is navigate.
Through coaching, we guide others through their journeys.
The Goodwill® program emphasized this — life as a journey, and how to support people along the way.

Unlike typical education coaching, this program covered the entire client journey:
Finding clients, building trust, identifying skill gaps, resume writing, onboarding, and career follow-ups.
It’s holistic, practical, and deeply human.

The Gift of Trust

Having someone you can trust at any age is precious.
As a tutor, I’ve watched students grow from childhood — I can be their lifelong navigator.
That’s a privilege and a responsibility.

While AI-related tragedies exist, progress won’t stop.
AI evolves exponentially — developers are already addressing safety.
Still, we must ensure that human warmth and guidance remain at the heart of progress.
